Happy Birthday America!

Happy Tuesday y’all! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday weekend celebrating the 4th of July.

I was lucky enough to attend my friend’s wedding on Sunday. Let me tell you…it was amazing. THE best wedding I’ve ever been to. Why? The food, the venue, the decor, and the bride were all amazing.

Dress: Revolve

There was so much love in the air, it made my heart burst. From the Bride and Grooms vows to her parents taking over the dance floor doing the bump. Everyone was there to celebrate the love of two amazing people, and I’m forever grateful to be apart of their special day. She allowed to the night to be about more than just her. She chose July 4th as the weekend to get married because her parents also got married that same weekend. In honor of their 40th anniversary, she had a replica wedding cake make just for them! She let them have their moment and celebrate their love. So obsessed.

While my blog isn’t really geared towards weddings or anything like it, but if you’re an event planner and are looking for some vendors/venues. Check out below.

Venue: Chicago Illuminating Company

I can’t say anymore good things about this venue. Not only is it three blocks away from my home, but the service from all the staff was on point. They always made sure your glass was full (not sure if that’s a good thing) and really took care of the guests. The gilded plate and serving ware lit up the room. The inside is very sleek and simple, allowing you to really make it your own.

Caterer: Boka Group

One word. Fabulous! Home to Stephanie Izard’s restaurant Girl & the Goat, the amazing company did not let me down. My friend and I looked like Vince Vaughn in Wedding Crashers. We  literally stuffed our faces with appetizers. Miniature Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Mini Baha Fish Tacos, and Mini Shrimp Crostini bites. Drool. The late night snacks were Mini Grilled Cheese sandwiches with a tomato jam AND Bite Sized Chicago Hot Dogs!!! YAASSSS! I freaking love hot dogs so much. I’m pretty sure I was walking around with crumbs on my face.
