Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope you are have a fabulous and SAFE holiday weekend. Chicago could not have asked for a better way to kick off summer. Beyoncé decided to grace us with her presence. Mother Nature decided not to be bi-polar and gave us 80 degree weather. It’s been one of the most amazing Memorial Day holiday weekends in a while.
I kicked off my weekend celebrating my good friend’s birthday. We had dinner at STK-which I know is a chain in Miami and Las Vegas, but I cannot help but love this place. The DJ is always on point and the service is truly great. Afterwards we went dancing until the wee-hours in the morning.
Everyone and their mom’s are out on their bikes, having picnics in the park, and rollerblading. My FOMO was at an all-time high. So my friend Marianne and I went to a rooftop bar called The J.Parker at Hotel Lincoln in Lincoln Park. This place is perfect for any tourist or any local resident. It over looks Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park Zoo, and it’s absolutely stunning. The only downfall is that space is relatively limited and seats are hard to come by. But they have incredible drinks, hand-cut fries, and outdoor TVs so you can enjoy all the Cubs games.
Today I went on a two-hour stroll throughout the city. Now I am completely biased and think Chicago is by far one of the greatest cities in the world. Millennium Park and the Lake Front are unlike any other place I’ve been to. It’s always nice to stop and enjoy what is right in your backyard. Days like this makes me feel so incredibly lucky to live in this gorgeous city and be able to call it home.
