I figured i need to spend some time dissecting everything that has happened in the past 24 hours. As we all know, the Caroline Panthers played the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, CA. Here are some highlights from the game:
Lady Gaga Slaying the National Anthem
Even though she looked like Effie Trinket, home girl laid down her pipes! Bravo! Watch here.
Peyton Manning Winning his second second Super Bowl
The Broncos defeated the Panthers 21 – 10. Carolina decided not to show up to the Super Bowl which was really exciting. Peyton escaped without getting hurt and successful became the oldest quarterback to ever win a Super Bowl. A huge win for him. During his post show interview, after he was asked if he was going to retire, he responded, “I just want to kiss my wife, my kids and drink a ton a Budweiser.” Beautifully stated. Get the camera out of his face and quit asking him what his future plans are and let him enjoy the current moment. Jeez.
The Heinz Hot Dog Commercial
Probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen. A munch of weiner dogs running in a hot dog costume and leaping into a Heinz mustard’s arms. The Best! Watch here.
The IBS Commercial
This is probably the grossest and weirdest commercial I have ever seen. I’m actually dying inside, it still weirds me out. But you know what? I’m still talking about it a day later, so it’s done it’s job. Watch here.
Coldplay and Bruno Mars opening for Queen B
I love love love Bruno Mars. He is so fun and so energetic and entertaining, I am so glad they brought him in. Coldplay was cold. Hard to hear them and not many people knew the words to any of their songs. Then Beyonce comes out in a Michael Jackson look-a-like outfit with her Black Panther background dancers, rocking out to her new song “Formation“. She’s unreal and stole the show. Watch here.
Beyonce almost falling during the Half-time show
Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see Beyonce mess up. It’s like she’s this perfect creature and she can do no wrong. But she almost did! I am so glad it’s on film so i can re-watch it over and over again. Watch on repeat here.
Cam Newton Leaving the Post Game Press Conference
It’s right after the Super Bowl, your team played like shit, and you have cameras and microphones all in your face. The last thing I would want to do is talk to someone. I would rather get up and leave without risking saying something I am going to regret. However, he’s a professional and he knew he was going to be asked questions and would have to speak in front of hundreds of people. He should have taken some time to collect himself and not sulked. He looked upset and slightly childish. But keep your head up Cam! It wasn’t all your fault. Watch here.
