Hello, hello everyone! This post isn’t about food, travel, or hosting parties. But more so explaining this 30 day challenge that I am going to attempt. I’m sure some of you have heard of this before. It’s pretty self-explanatory. You drink a gallon of water every day for 30 days. It might seem a little extreme, seeing that it is double the amount of the daily water intake. I was inspired by the insanely beautiful, Gabrielle Union. I saw her Instagram post where she says the secret to her youthful skin (she’s 43!!) is drinking a gallon of water a day with a little lemon in it for flavor. You don’t have to tell me twice!
I did some research to see if this is actually healthy for you, but if there is some sort of challenge. There have been numerous posts from people that have completed the challenge and shared their results. They ranging from, increase in the elasticity of your skin-making it more firm and dewy, even brighter! Also, some noticed weight loss due metabolism increase and the fullness of drinking so much water . Some have said that their eyes have become more white and brighter, their hair grew faster and was healthier, and their skin cleared up. However, because you are drinking so much water, your body is forcing out all of the toxins, so the first few days, your skin may breakout before it will clear up.
I spent this whole year trying to not only improve my body, but my skin. I started using Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide and stopped drinking pop. Cold turkey. The pop thing was a huge feat for me, considering I used to drink 2 liters of pop every two days, back in college. It’s actually disgusting how much pop I would drink and would NEVER drink water. Some magical higher-power came down and took away my need to drink pop. Granite, I will have a splash of pop in a alcoholic drink when I’m out at a bar with friends. But most times I’ll have wine or a extra dirty martini, yum! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come this year. This honestly is a really big deal for me. So now it’s time to push myself a little further and end the year on a high note.
I leave for Mexico on the 30th and I want to look my best. I am stepping up my workout regimen and taking on this 30 day challenge. I’m going to modify it though and drink warm lemon water in the morning. This is something that I’ve done earlier this year and loved the results. Drinking warm lemon water first thing in the morning helps get your digestive system going and is a natural diuretic. The lemon also helps flush out the toxins in your system and helps get rid of bloating. I’m also going to try to not drink any alcohol during the 30 days. But I am going to San Francisco in a couple of weeks, so no guarantee 🙂
