Bear Down

Today is opening day for the Chicago Bears. I absolutely love watching football, and today could either be the best day of my life, or the worst. My boyfriend is from Wisconsin, and is unfortunately a cheese head (cue vomit). My former Chief Operating Officer invited us over for a Bears vs. Packers party. We both live within walking distance from Soldier Field.

Andy and Me at Soldier Field 2014. We obviously know who lost the game…

Party starts at 10am and kick off is at noon. Obviously proper etiquette is to not show up to a party empty-handed. So we decided to bring our own bloody mary bar! Something super easy to carry, and it doesn’t require that much effort.

We went to my favorite grocery store, Mariano’s, and grabbed the following items:

  • Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix (my favorite)
  • Tito’s Vodka
  • Bulk of Cubed Cheddar Cheese
  • Jar of Green Olives
  • Beef Jerky Sticks
  • Celery Stalks
  • Pickle Spears
  • Worcestershire Sauce (brought from my house)
  • Frank’s Hot sauce (brought from my house)

To avoid creating a cluster, we decided to pre-make the garnish sticks in advance. We added the cheese, olives, celery, and summer sausage. That way people can just grab and go. No fuss no muss. If you don’t like what’s on the stick, don’t grab one.

Let me know what you all are doing for the game and what your favorite team is. Bear Down, Chicago!
